Softball Game Preview: Kingwood Park Panthers vs. Goose Creek Memorial Patriots

The Kingwood Park Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Panthers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They skirted past Hargrave 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

Abbey Papadimitriou was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Barnes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

While Goose Creek Memorial didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged Sterling out 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Kingwood Park beat Goose Creek Memorial 8-4 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kingwood Park since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
