Preview: Chesterfield Golden Rams vs. North Central Knights
The Chesterfield Golden Rams will head out on the road to take on the North Central Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chesterfield has three straight victories, North Central has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Chesterfield put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 72-42 win over Cheraw at home. Chesterfield's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Kierra Diggs, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Terrahjah Robinson, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
North Central suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Lewisville at home and fell 47-11. North Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-5.
Chesterfield pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Chesterfield skirted past North Central 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Chesterfield repeat their success, or does North Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
