Soccer Game Preview: Chino vs. Don Lugo

The Chino Cowboys are taking a road trip to square off against the Don Lugo Conquistadores at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chino's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Chino didn't have quite enough to beat Chaffey and fell 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cowboys came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Tigers are ranked 697th).

Meanwhile, Don Lugo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 4-1 to Montclair. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Conquistadores couldn't quite close it out.

Don Lugo's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-2. As for Chino, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-6.

Chino took their victory against Don Lugo in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chino since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
