Baseball Game Preview: Troy-Buchanan Trojans vs. North Point Grizzlies

The Troy-Buchanan Trojans will face off against the North Point Grizzlies at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Troy-Buchanan has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while North Point will come in with four straight victories.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Troy-Buchanan and Fort Zumwalt West meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Trojans lost 10-3 to the Jaguars.

Carson Twellman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, North Point got the win against Washington on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

North Point's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Troy-Buchanan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Troy-Buchanan came up short against North Point in their previous matchup back in March, falling 5-1. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
