Basketball Game Preview: Ardsley Panthers vs. Johnson City Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ardsley Panthers face off against Johnson City Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Ardsley will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Ardsley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They breezed past Marlboro Central to the tune of 76-40. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Johnson City didn't have too much trouble with Chenango Valley on Sunday as they won 50-35. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Ardsley better keep an eye on Annabel Burke. She was instrumental in Johnson City's win, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Burke has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliya Hankey, who shot 46% from the field en route to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Johnson City pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points over those games. As for Ardsley, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
