Softball Game Recap: Hampton Crabbers vs. Menchville Monarchs

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hampton's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the Menchville Monarchs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Tuesday.

Hampton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Menchville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Coming up, Hampton will welcome Norcom at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Menchville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Phoebus at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phantoms have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.13 runs per game on average), something the Monarchs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
