Basketball Recap: West Nassau Warriors vs. Baldwin Indians
West Nassau was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 59-45 to the Baldwin Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 35-22 back in December of 2024.
Nyrie Gabriel was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten boards for Baldwin. The dominant performance gave Gabriel a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Danasia Baxter-Johnson, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
West Nassau's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Baldwin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-9.
West Nassau wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 29-27 defeat against Northside Christian Academy on the 27th. Baldwin has also already played their next game, a 46-39 win against Wolfson on the 28th.
