Softball Preview: West Aurora Blackhawks vs. Aurora Central Catholic Chargers
The West Aurora Blackhawks will head out on the road to take on the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Aurora was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Elgin on Monday. The Blackhawks were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Maroons. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Maroons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, Aurora Central Catholic entered their tilt with Saint Ignatius College Prep on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Wolfpack with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Corina Miller tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Abby Gambro was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
