Basketball Recap: Defiance Takes a Loss

Defiance won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were beaten by the Patrick Henry Patriots 53-26. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Patrick Henry's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carys Crossland, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Crossland's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ada Christman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 boards and 11 assists.

Defiance's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Patrick Henry, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Defiance will welcome Kenton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Patrick Henry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elmwood at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
