Volleyball Recap: Wylie East Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lovejoy back in March, Wylie East came back down to earth. Wylie East fell just short of the Allen Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Wylie East actually scored more points across those five sets (110-92), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-23, 12-25, 25-23, 16-14.

With the defeat, Wylie East broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. As for Allen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wylie East is set to challenge their familiar foe Lebanon Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Allen will take on rival Lovejoy on Thursday.
