Chesterfield extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-1. They walked away with a 49-38 win over the C.A. Johnson Hornets. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chesterfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jullian McClain out in front who rushed for 114 yards and four touchdowns. Greg Rushing Jr also helped out as he racked up 159 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chesterfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

As for C.A. Johnson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Despite 52 more yards than Chesterfield, the Hornets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the defeat, C.A. Johnson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Stacey Isaac threw for 279 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Jeremiah Knightner was another key player, gaining 149 total yards.

Chesterfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-14 loss against McBee on the 19th. As for C.A. Johnson, they have also already played their next matchup, a 20-0 win against Allendale-Fairfax on the 19th.
