Basketball Game Preview: New Hampton Chickasaws vs. Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings

New Hampton hasn't had much luck against Decorah-North Winneshiek recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The New Hampton Chickasaws are taking a road trip to square off against the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings at 6:45 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

New Hampton came up into this matchup off a tough 22-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Columbus by a score of 50-48 on Monday. The Chickasaws' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Decorah-North Winneshiek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 56-49 to Crestwood.

Decorah-North Winneshiek's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for New Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

New Hampton ended up a good deal behind Decorah-North Winneshiek when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 50-33. Can New Hampton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
