The Aledo Bearcats will take on the Smithson Valley Rangers in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Aledo comes in on 29 and Smithson Valley on 14.
With a playoff game on the line, Aledo rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Jackrabbits 43-7 at home. Considering Aledo has won 11 matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Aledo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hawk Patrick-Daniels, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick-Daniels set a new season high mark in carries with 27. Davhon Keys was in the mix too, providing Aledo with four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Smithson Valley stacked an eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-21 victory over Veterans Memorial on the road. With Smithson Valley ahead 35-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Aledo's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.15 points. As for Smithson Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
