Athens's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the River Valley Raiders. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Athens pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for River Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
