Football Recap: Canton Academy Takes a Loss

Canton Academy had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it five. They fell 12-3 to the Winston Academy Patriots. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Jonah Hood was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Beau Boatner helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards.

Canton Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-7 defeat against Leake Academy on the 3rd. As for Winston Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 28-7 loss against Oak Hill Academy on the 3rd.
