Basketball Recap: Sherman Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sherman had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Wirt County Tigers with a 48-42 victory.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylan Dawson, who posted 18 points. Dawson's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Hoover, who put up nine points.

Sherman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. Wirt County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.

Sherman has already played their next game, a 73-34 defeat against Tug Valley on the 12th. Wirt County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
