Basketball Recap: Lake Catholic Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Fairview came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Lake Catholic, but Ace Peterlin wouldn't allow it. The Lake Catholic Cougars secured a 54-50 W over the Fairview Warriors on Tuesday thanks in part to Peterlin, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 18 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Stanton Powaski, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave him a new career-high.

Lake Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Fairview, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-3.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lake Catholic Cougars take on the Elyria Catholic Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Catholic is facing Elyria Catholic at the right time seeing as Elyria Catholic is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. Fairview has already played their next matchup (against Cuyahoga Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
