Magdalena waltzed into their game on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Logan Longhorns with a sharp 15-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-1 on Friday.

Shane Montoya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ayden Herschbach was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Joseph Zamora was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

Magdalena kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan only managed four hits.

Magdalena's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Logan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Magdalena will challenge Cimarron at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Steers are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Logan, they will take on Grady at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
