Basketball Recap: Lincolnton Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lincolnton can now relate to. The contest between the Lincolnton Wolves and the Lincoln Charter Eagles didn't end well, with the Lincolnton Wolves falling 45-30. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 64-33 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

Lincoln Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Symphani Stevens out in front who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Martha Guinle, who had eight points along with five assists and five boards.

Lincolnton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season. The victory (which was Lincoln Charter's 17th in a row) raised their record to 20-6.

Lincolnton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln Charter, they have already played their next game, a 53-30 loss against Forbush on the 28th.
