Basketball Game Preview: Burrillville Broncos vs. Juanita Sanchez Complex Cavaliers

The Burrillville Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Juanita Sanchez Complex Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Burrillville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Juanita Sanchez Complex likes a good challenge.

Burrillville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Westerly, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Burrillville was ranked 14th). Burrillville fell to Westerly 63-59. The Broncos haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Burrillville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Logan Gelinas, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and seven boards, and Jack Belluzzi, who went 6 of 7 en route to 15 points. Belluzzi is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Sean Zanella was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Juanita Sanchez Complex was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Narragansett.

Juanita Sanchez Complex's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Burrillville, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Burrillville beat Juanita Sanchez Complex 48-37 in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burrillville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
