Auburn is a perfect 10-0 against Opelika since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Auburn is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Auburn came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Central by a score of 12-10 on Thursday.

Stuart Mills was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Bryson Sheppard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Opelika and Smiths Station meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Panthers.

Opelika has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Everything went Auburn's way against Opelika in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Auburn made off with a 16-3 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
