Recap: South Pointe Stallions vs. Northwestern Trojans
The South Pointe Stallions had already won 20 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.1 points), and they went ahead and made it 21 on Tuesday. They breezed by Northwestern at home to the tune of 78-15. South Pointe has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 21 points or more this season.
South Pointe found their leader in underclassman JaNyia Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Cunningham is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Victoria Morris, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
South Pointe pushed their record up to 23-2 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 47.8 points. As for Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.
South Pointe will head out on the road to face off against York at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Pointe has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,144 points over their last 15 games. As for Northwestern, they will be playing at home against Catawba Ridge at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Catawba Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
