Franklin Monroe extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-17. They lost 12-1 to the Ansonia Tigers. The Jets were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Franklin Monroe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lola Sando, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
As for Ansonia, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Ansonia's side, Abby Klingshirn and Miley Walls made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Klingshirn pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Walls pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last three contests. At bat, Klingshirn went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Walls went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

That's the most stolen bases McKenna has posted since back in April of 2025. Ava Thatcher was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Monroe will take on Fairlawn at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ansonia, they will head out to take on Celina at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
