Soccer Recap: Mt. Whitney Comes Up Short

Mt. Whitney lost against Porterville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mt. Whitney Pioneers lost 3-0 to the Porterville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Panthers are ranked 192nd).

Mt. Whitney has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-6 record this season. As for Porterville, their win bumped their record up to 16-3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Whitney has already played their next contest (against Redwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Porterville will challenge Monache at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Porterville is facing Monache at the right time seeing as Monache is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
