Basketball Game Preview: Whitmer Panthers vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets

Whitmer hasn't had much luck against Perrysburg recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Whitmer Panthers will take on the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Whitmer is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Ross: they outscored them in every quarter. Whitmer put the hurt on Ross with a sharp 45-22 win on Monday.

Whitmer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Finch, who posted 11 points and five steals. Finch is becoming a predictor of Whitmer's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 5-13 when she doesn't). Nikki Deiley was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perrysburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Findlay by a score of 51-41 on Saturday.

Whitmer's record is now 9-13. As for Perrysburg, their record now sits at 12-9.

Whitmer ended up a good deal behind Perrysburg when the teams last played back in January, losing 56-42. Can Whitmer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
