Athens Academy (Athens, Ga.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 14-7 victory over
Prince Avenue Christian (Athens, Ga.) on Saturday. The Spartans captured the lead for good when
Jordan Lawson ran for a touchdown.
After trailing 7-0 at the half, the Wolverines went ahead on a touchdown with 2:00 left in the third. Athens Academy grabbed hold of the lead when Lawson ran for a touchdown with 6:00 remaining in the fourth quarter, and never relinquished it.
AA's most effective player was Lawson. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown.
Prince Avenue Christian's lone touchdown came on a 10-yard run in the third quarter.
The Spartans got revenge for last year's 18-0 loss to PAC with the victory.
The loss comes after Prince Avenue Christian defeated Athens Christian 40-0 last week.
Prince Avenue Christian (5-1) goes up against Commerce in a A Region 8 game matchup next week, while Athens Academy (5-0) locks horns with Pinecrest Academy also in a A Region 8 game.
