Football Game Preview: Salisbury Hornets vs. Concord Spiders + How To Watch

The Salisbury Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Concord Spiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Concord took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Salisbury, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Salisbury turned things around against South Rowan on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Raiders. The Hornets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Salisbury's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Foxx, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, and also threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Foxx a new career-high in passer rating (121.4). Salisbury's leading receiver Jonathan Ross was Foxx's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in two rushing scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Salisbury proved: they limited South Rowan to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. While three picked up at least two total tackles, Foxx stood above the rest. He rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, and also threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Salisbury didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.3.

Salisbury's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Darrius Jefferies refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Concord was beaten by Northwest Cabarrus 42-13 on Friday. The Spiders have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Salisbury's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
