Softball Recap: Lytle Pirates vs. Comfort Bobcats/Deer
Lytle won the last time they faced Comfort and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pirates came out on top against the Bobcats/Deer by a score of 6-3.
Claire Canales made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Canales was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Kaycee Galindo was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Marley Macias was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Lytle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Lytle now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Comfort, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
