League recap: Tacoma Baptist climbs in standings with win

Tacoma Baptist was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in 1A/2B Northwest. Earlier in the week, the Crusaders defeated Orcas Island 64-37.

Darrington extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chief Leschi, 53-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Loggers.

LaConner's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sean Hulbert has thrown for 398 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Hudson Zavala has seven catches for 193 yards. Dahlton Zavala leads the league in rushing with 252 yards.

A big matchup in 1A/2B Northwest this week will be when LaConner takes on Tacoma Baptist. At the moment, the Braves are in third, while Mark Smith's team is in second.

Darrington took down the Warriors 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
