Soccer Game Preview: Lynwood vs. Downey

Lynwood hasn't had much luck against Downey recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lynwood Knights will welcome the Downey Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lynwood's offense. They came up short against Warren on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while the Bears are ranked 196th).

Meanwhile, Downey also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 3-0 to Warren on Thursday.

This is the second loss in a row for Lynwood and nudges their season record down to 5-10-2. As for Downey, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-2.
