Basketball Recap: Kavontay Rose and K'den Shannon Secure Win for Ragin Prep Christian Academy

Ragin Prep Christian Academy lost to Greenwood Christian back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Ragin Prep Christian Academy Rams walked away with a 44-37 victory over the Greenwood Christian Hawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Leading Ragin Prep Christian Academy to victory were K'Den Shannon and Kavontay Rose. Shannon posted 13 points, while Rose put up ten points. That's the most points Shannon has posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Greenwood Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Scott-Palacios went 8 of 20 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Scott-Palacios' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Reed, who had ten points.

Ragin Prep Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. As for Greenwood Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-7 record.

Ragin Prep Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 63-35 defeat against Cathedral Academy on the 18th. As for Greenwood Christian, they will host Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
