Baseball Recap: Fort Bend Kempner Comes Up Short

Fort Bend Kempner was the 6-5 winner over Mayde Creek when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fort Bend Kempner Cougars took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mayde Creek Rams on Saturday. The loss leaves the Cougars still looking for their first win of the season.

Fort Bend Kempner saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Kirsch, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Kirsch a new career-high in RBI (two).

Fort Bend Kempner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8-1. As for Mayde Creek, they moved to 1-8-1 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Fort Bend Kempner will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Bend Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Mayde Creek, they will take on Jordan at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayde Creek is facing Jordan at the right time seeing as Jordan is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
