Softball Recap: West Point Triumphs

West Point's tournament run continued when they took on St. Mary on Friday. The Dragons walked away with a 10-6 win over the Knights.

West Point let Morgan Edwards and Leilani Mendez run wild. Edwards went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples and three RBI, while Mendez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was BrielleRosalia Philip, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

West Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

West Point's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for St. Mary's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

West Point wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against Cactus on the 14th. As for St. Mary's, they will challenge Combs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
