Magnolia waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Cypress Lakes Spartans by a score of 2-0.

Leading Magnolia to victory were Sophie Gomez and Rylan Basset. Gomez had nine digs and four aces, while Basset had 13 assists. Those 13 assists gave Basset a new career-high.

Magnolia's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Cypress Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
