Basketball Game Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets

The Zanesville Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Zanesville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Zanesville came up short against Licking Valley and fell 60-53. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Panthers are ranked 186th).

Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Granville by a score of 50-43. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Zanesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Zanesville might still be hurting after the 69-46 loss they got from Mt. Vernon when the teams last played back in January. Can Zanesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
