Baseball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft lost to Bakersfield back in May of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Drillers by a score of 9-8.

Ben Nuncio was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Taft's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Barnett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Taft now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Bakersfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Taft will square off against Strathmore at 4:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Bakersfield, they will face off against Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th.
