Softball Recap: Coolidge Bears vs. Seton Catholic Sentinels

Coolidge had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-17-2 to make it six. They came up short against the Seton Catholic Sentinels, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 on April 2nd.

Coolidge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kassidy Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Seton Catholic, their record is now 17-3. Considering they have won 13 games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Seton Catholic's side, Brooke Zuluaga made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Zuluaga has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Scarlett Olivares was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Brooklyn Hess was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

As of now, neither Coolidge nor Seton Catholic have any future games scheduled.
