Lone Oak is 0-10 against Edgewood since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lone Oak Buffaloes will be playing at home against the Edgewood Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. Lone Oak will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 830th, while Edgewood is ranked 227th).

Lone Oak suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Commerce 66-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lone Oak in their matchups with Commerce: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Edgewood can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 52-21 win over Prairiland at home. With Edgewood ahead 32-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Edgewood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blair McPherson out in front who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Paul, who scored 12 points.

Lone Oak's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home.

Lone Oak was taken down by Edgewood 54-23 in their previous matchup on January 2nd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Paul, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds.
