Forest Grove faced McMinnville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Grizzlies. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Forest Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for McMinnville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Forest Grove will square off against Newberg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
