Hudson and Brecksville-Broadview Heights are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2020, but not for long. The Explorers will square off against the Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hudson, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Hudson was able to grind out a solid victory over Hathaway Brown, taking the game 3-1.
Hudson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.

Maribeth Slater went supernova, getting nine digs and five aces. What's more, she racked up 28 assists, the most she's had since back in August. Addison Benoit was another key player, getting nine digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Hudson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Brecksville-Broadview Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Stow-Munroe Falls.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights took Stow-Munroe Falls into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 23-25, 23-25, 16-14.
Hudson's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Hudson beat Brecksville-Broadview Heights 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Explorers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
