Soccer Recap: Mary Persons Takes a Loss

Mary Persons fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Trinity Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trinity Christian Lions by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Lions are ranked 126th).

Mary Persons dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Trinity Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mary Persons will square off against Whitewater at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitewater will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mary Persons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Upson-Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.
