Volleyball Recap: Mourning Takes Down Northwestern in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Mourning had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Northwestern Bulls with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

It was another big night for Juan Clavijo, who had 24 digs and four aces. That's the most digs he has posted over his last six games.

Mourning couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 42.6% of their attack attempts. That's the best hitting percentage they've posted all season.

Mourning's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Northwestern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Mourning will face off against Miami Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hi-Tides will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Sharks surely won't give up without a fight. Northwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
