Football Recap: Mccomb Skates Past Provine with Ease

McComb never let their opponents score on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Provine Rams 49-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Tigers just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McComb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Broderick Peters, who picked up 87 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another rusher making a difference was Sammy Badon, who rushed for 67 yards and one score.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something McComb proved: they limited Provine to a paltry -1 yards per carry. The Tigers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.2.

The win (which was McComb's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average this season. As for Provine, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

McComb wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 18-16 win against Brookhaven on the 19th. As for Provine, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-2 victory against Jim Hill on the 19th.
