Baseball Recap: Hilltop Has No Trouble Against Stryker

Hilltop never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Stryker Panthers with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Cadets have beaten the Panthers the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Brennan Dempsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dempsey was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Wagner, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Devin Dempsey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hilltop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stryker only posted an OBP of .158.

Hilltop now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Stryker, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Hilltop will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
