Baseball Recap: Hume-Fogg Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Hume-Fogg and Glencliff, and Hume-Fogg kept the tradition alive. The Blue Knights never let the Colts get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Monday.

Bennett Brock and Aevan Sharma made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Brock pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sharma tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Brock a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At the plate, Brock went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run, while Sharma went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, William Currie and Baker Cooper did most of the damage at the plate: Currie scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances, while Cooper scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Hume-Fogg is undefeated when Currie posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Maxim Miller was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Hume-Fogg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Hume-Fogg's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Glencliff, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Hume-Fogg is taking a road trip to face off against Hunters Lane at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. Glencliff will be paying especially close attention to Hume-Fogg's game: after Hume-Fogg faces off against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, they'll take on Glencliff again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
