Basketball Recap: Demotte Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

DeMotte Christian took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They secured a 63-57 W over the Hebron Hawks. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 67-47 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

DeMotte Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tony Bos, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Bos has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tanyon Bakker, who shot 64% from the field en route to 18 points.

When it comes to explaining why Hebron lost, don't look at Peter Socci. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-22 on his way to 26 points. Spencer Wynsma was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Coming up, DeMotte Christian will face off against Oregon-Davis at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th. As for Hebron, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-51 loss against Kouts on the 28th.
