Basketball Recap: Ramsey Falls Despite Big Games from Waylon Williams and Aaron Trexler

Ramsey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They lost 86-62 to the Mulberry Grove Aces. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aces apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Ramsey's loss came despite strong showings from Aaron Trexler and Waylon Williams. Trexler went 7 of 9 to rack up 18 points, while Williams went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points. That's the most points Trexler has posted since back in November of 2023. Owen Warner was another key player, putting up eight points.

Mulberry Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Icenogle, who went 12 for 14 en route to 31 points. Thanks to that strong game, Icenogle now owns an excellent 40.8% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Landon Sugg, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds.

Ramsey's loss dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Mulberry Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ramsey will host Patoka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mulberry Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Farina South Central at 7:30 p.m.
