Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mandi Hill and Addalay Simmons Lead First Assembly Christian to Victory

First Assembly Christian hadn't done well against Glen Iris Baptist recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Swordsmen by a score of 43-36. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 46-31 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading First Assembly Christian to victory were Addalay Simmons and Mandi Hill. Simmons posted 22 points and four steals, while Hill dropped a double-double with 12 points and 18 boards. The game was Simmons' third in a row with at least 17 points.

First Assembly Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 58.0 points this season. As for Glen Iris Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, First Assembly Christian will host Hope Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glen Iris Baptist, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Victory Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on December 4.
