Football Recap: Amory Panthers vs. Pontotoc Warriors
Amory's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pontotoc Warriors. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Although Amory took the loss, they still got scores from Emmanuel Randle and Tj Bailey.
Amory wouldn't let Pontotoc keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Amory can thank Jordan Fields and Jaiden Clark for forcing both of them. Clark also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Amory's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Amory is taking a road trip to face off against Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pontotoc, they will square off against South Pontotoc at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pontotoc is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
