Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Notre Dame Academy barely beat Ashwaubenon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tritons blew past the Jaguars 6-0 on Saturday. Considering the Tritons have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Notre Dame Academy got a great performance from Ty Bumgardner as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Bumgardner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Frelich, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Cam Michiels also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
